Pour Out Your Heart For Commons 2018

We are so grateful to have hosted yet another successful Pour Out Your Heart for Commons event on November 2, 2018. With the help of our Emerging Leaders Council, board members, event sponsors, and friends of Commons, we had more than 330 people in attendance and raised more than $120,000 in support of our children, families and seniors. We would like to thank the amazing band, The Chicago Players, as well as City Winery Chicago for hosting us for the night.

The testimonial this year was given by Miriam Quiroz, a mother of four children who went through Chicago Commons early education program. Miriam shared with us a story about her son Harold, one of the first students to attend one of our early education schools, Paulo Freire Center. She shared with us Harold’s longstanding interest and technology since being at Chicago Commons, and where he is today – pursuing a degree in Physics at Illinois State University! She also brought along Harold’s favorite book to read when he was little, Quantum Physics for Babies, which Miriam keeps in her classroom to this day.

Here’s to helping more family’s like Miriam and her son Harold! Please visit our Facebook page to view the photo album. Thank you for helping families GO Further.
