Chicago Commons has been accepted to participate in Comcast Cares Day. Every year, Comcast NBCUniversal celebrates a day of volunteering and community service by planning volunteer days all over the country. Comcast Cares day will take place at Paulo Freire Family Center on May 4th from 8am-2pm with breakfast and lunch provided.

Volunteers will beautify our early education center in Back of the Yards. The project will also involve the installation of a playground, cleaning and painting, planting flowers, improvements to the facilities, and the beautification of an open lot with cleaning and planting greenery. We seek to engage 100 volunteers. The project will increase community pride, improve safety, and lift-up Commons role in the community.
