At Chicago Commons, we celebrated the National Association for the Education of Young Children (naeyc) Week of the Young Child 2023. Week of the Young Child® focuses public attention on the needs of young children and their families and recognizes the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.

From April 1-7, 2023 we celebrated Week of the Young Child 2023 with our young children, teachers, and families. This year, we recognized a family worker, teacher, and site director during the week-long festivities.

As one of Chicago’s largest Early Head Start and Head Start providers, we recognize that the early childhood years (birth through age 8) lay the foundation for children’s success in school and later life. The Week of the Young Child® is a time to plan how we—as citizens of a community, of a state, and of a nation—will better meet the needs of all young children and their families.
