Chicago Commons welcomes Bach to School with WFMT, a music donation program supporting the youngest members of our communities. They kicked off their 30-minute music classes with our Guadalupano Family Center kids, and everyone had a fantastic time! Miguel de Leon, a bilingual music teacher with over 30 years of experience, led the music class workshop and will be visiting all of our directly operated centers during the month of December.
Bach to School at Chicago Commons goes beyond musical education. The faces of our little ones light up as they engage in hands-on activities, experimenting with an array of instruments. From the playful strumming of ukeleles to the rhythmic tapping of drums, these young musicians discover the magic of sound in an atmosphere that encourages creativity and self-expression. The class not only imparts musical skills but also becomes a platform for building community and fostering a lifelong love for the art of music.
Stay tuned for more Bach to School musical moments as Miguel de León brings the magic of melodies to children at our Paulo Freire Center, Taylor Center for New Experiences, and Nia Family Center.
