Earlier this year, we launched our small business development series—a multi-week program designed to support aspiring entrepreneurs in bringing their ideas to life. We proudly celebrated 13 individuals who completed the series, each with a unique vision for their business, from catering and baking to construction, clothing, and call center operations. A special thank-you shoutout to Jen Ashrafi from Allstate for volunteering at our pitch event the week before—your guidance and support helped our entrepreneurs shine.
Throughout the program, participants worked hard to build strong business plans, develop financial forecasts, learn marketing strategies, and craft compelling pitches. While many are still pursuing licenses and certifications, our parent participants all made meaningful strides toward launching their small businesses.
Most graduates held a high school equivalency degree, with some having completed college coursework or beyond. What united them was a shared commitment to building a brighter future—for themselves, their families, and their communities.
At the graduation ceremony on April 26, we honored their journeys with inspiring remarks, celebrated pitch competition winners, and recognized each graduate’s success. Below are the parent entrepreneurs and their businesses, with pitch winners highlighted:
