Home Care

Chicago Commons’ Home Care services support seniors in their home through the help of an aide. A caregiver visits daily or weekly to assist with activities including:

  • Personal care, bath and tuck services
  • Cleaning/light housekeeping
  • Medication reminders
  • Planning and preparing meals
  • Laundry, shopping, running errands and escorting to appointments
  • “Welcome back” after hospital stays
  • Specialty care: Alzheimer’s, Diabetes, Parkinson’s and traumatic brain injury

Home care aides also provide friendship and support for loved ones who may be isolated through age and infirmity. Services are available seven days a week, 24-hours a day and can be scheduled based on the needs of each participant.

PROGRAM RESULTS

“My mother Sarah has attended Chicago Commons Adult Day Service program for over five years. Her participation within the program has a positive impact for her and our family. She has a safe place to attend during the day and she is able to socialize with her peer group. I’ve seen great improvements in her demeanor and she is more outgoing. Her attendance within the program has prolonged her ability to continue to have a more independent lifestyle.” – Rochelle

I appreciate the care that Chicago Commons has shown my husband. While he is living at home with me, I am not able to take him to outside activities. We used to go to the movies quite frequently but have not been able to do so now. I know how much he enjoys the outings to the movies, as well as the other outings provided by Chicago Commons. They have enabled him to have a better quality of life even though he is suffering from Alzheimer’s.” – Robin
